It was a pleasure hosting Dr. Mahmood Alam from University of Glasgow here at KAUST and discussing about exciting research ideas. Dr Mahmood is a trained molecular parasitologist and he has expertise in the area of proteomics/phospho-proteomics, chemical-genetics and protein kinase cascade studies in the malaria parasite. His research has been directed towards understanding the role of phospho-signaling regulation in the malaria parasite invasion of host (human) erythrocytes and identification of novel targets to develop new anti-malarial drugs.
