Biography

Yan Li earned his PhD and Master’s degrees at the University of Liverpool, UK, where his research focused on bioinformatic analyses of Salmonella genomics and population phylogenetics in the Global South. As a postdoctoral researcher in the Pathogen Genomics Lab at KAUST, he has broadened his interests to a wider range of bacterial and fungal pathogens. His research interests include investigating pathogen virulence and antimicrobial resistance, using genomics and transcriptomics approaches with the aid of emerging AI tools.
